I was afraid to buy a sweater for my old (16 year old) cat, but the old man tolerates it very well. Actually seems fun to wear. I'm sure it keeps him warm and he likes it a lot. A leg hole is good; I think it helped him to wear it right away. The only limitation is that he is a short haired cat and very thin. I bought a medium size and I'm glad I did because I think the neck opening is smaller than it should be. It doesn't seem to bother him, but keep that in mind. And if you're buying this for a dog, unless it's a very small dog, you'll probably have to trim it down a bit. Note. This is not a breach of contract. Cutting a small gap in it isn't the end of the world if it makes the animal warmer. It's just something to think about.
