For high ceilings these are my favorite indoor LED spotlights. They are light, plastic (unbreakable) and precise. By accurate I mean consistent color and light intensity unlike other LED lights. That's about 60 that I've bought (Home Depot and LOWES always run out). It's better than our local LIGHT store that sells all kinds of unique items. Get rid of your curly light bulbs (CFLs) and incandescent bulbs right now. they are much colder and darken quite well. (Good dimmers are harder to find, and bad ones cause the light to flicker. Best to use without a dimmer.) I have high ceilings, so the extra lumens aren't important - I'm aiming for 1000 lumens, with 650 being good enough for 8-foot blankets are. I'm not an expert, but I did a lot of research and then bought several cans of different lamps. I compared the light colors (2600 K - 6000 K). They are beautiful and reproduce colors accurately enough for photography. There are a few things that bother me about other options - some have a hole in the middle or they are so rough you can use a suction cup to attach or remove them. Others have shadows, some produce really bad highlights. They don't have those bad qualities - they're evenly lustrous, soft, and make reading fun again. I hope I never see a CFL bulb again!
