Review on Tear Away Stabilizer Embroidery Backing by Amber Perez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Too Thin for Long Jumps

The description states that it is a medium-density, crispy and hard crust. not correct! it's so thin you can see through it. It also says if you need extra support, just use extra sheets. This defeats the purpose in my opinion. If there are large jumps when setting a stitch, then the tear breaks and does not support the fabric. which also totally defeats the purpose. I've tried a few other items with similar problems. eventually i will return it. One good thing I can say is if it rips, it rips clean. It was a little temperamental getting the first crack, but once it started it broke easily and cleanly.

Pros
  • √Wide Application: This is a medium weight clear and strong stabilizer, 1.8 oz (50 grams), tear away stabilizer for light to medium stitch density, best for natural fibers, thicker and softer fabrics, excellent for embroidery with frames, appliqués, thread tension, computer lace embroidery and sewing with decorative satin stitch. Good stabilizer for machine embroidery.
Cons
  • High price
