I use well water and am trying to find ways to treat the water and make it cleaner. A whole house reverse osmosis system can help, but it can be expensive. The current system works fairly well and the water looks clear except it leaves a thin rusty residue, especially in the toilet. I just ordered and installed this 1 micron filter a few days ago as a last resort before water gets into the house. It looks well made, which gives it a large filtering surface area, unlike rotary filters, and the pressure drop across the filter appears to be minimal. It's too early to tell if this will affect water quality, but so far I haven't seen any rusting in the toilet. My setup includes a 30 micron 4.5" x 20" filter that I use here at Revain, a green sand filter to filter out iron, manganese and sulfur odours, a combination water softener and filter to reduce minerals in the water and remove unpleasant taste and smell. it is now a 1 micron 4.5" x 20" water filter. I assume this filter works, but only time will tell. So far it seems to be working as described. I recommend it.
