Incorrect threads on lights and ceiling fans

It would be nice if the threads were SAE and not metric. It will probably work on its own, but if you attach a ball/jar to it the threads won't match. In addition, when used with a light nozzle, the chain is too short, while the connecting element is in the part that screws the ball / glass to the fan.
