My child is very skinny for his age and I've grown taller, but he was unbearably tight in the armpits. She weighs 53 pounds and I ordered a size 8. A larger size would have been too big in the waist. It is possible to remove the sleeves and sew the shoulder to the armpit to make it sleeveless, but it cannot be worn at this point. Otherwise it's such a beautiful dress and for the price you can't beat it.
