I am reviewing the Sangean H2O1 radio. There are a few things to note about this radio, some of which have to do with its waterproofing and showering (so these are design features), but they can still affect your user experience. I will give some facts and some opinions. Note. The complete manual for this radio is online in PDF format and if you buy it please read it first. No Bluetooth, internet radio: no. Handle: Retractable and positioned toward the rear of the unit (instead of directly over the top of the unit like most radios), making the front of the unit heavier when carried or attached to a hook or shower Presets: 5 for AM , 5 for FM1, 5 for FM2. Easy to set up, one button. WX can also have presets, but initially there are only 7 stations. Volume: Up and down with buttons only, no wheel. You'll appreciate radios with a wheel or volume knob, both for ease of use and for more precise volume control (rather than sticking to "steps" dictated by buttons). WX One-button direct access to the weather radio. : Unfortunately there is none. You must press the band button multiple times to scroll through the bands up to WX, and then press the button again to return to the band you originally listened to. I've never used the weather alarm to see if it works. VHF reception: good, but not outstanding. With no wire antenna dangling from the back, reception is satisfactory at best. FM reception is better with the cable on the back, but not as good as a standard telescopic antenna. The wire is more annoying than you might think as it hangs under the radio and can easily be pulled on if you move the radio. However, this is not a problem if the radio is parked in the shower. Note. There is an FM2 that has the same range but offers five more memory settings, so the FM has 10 memories. AM reception: very good, internal ferrite antenna but directional, big difference in reception (so try to find out the angles first before installing it in the shower). As good as SW AM's VHF radio? No SW Reception: No HF, TV, CB or any other reception in case you were wondering. Daytime nap function: The one-button adjustable daytime nap function can be set to play the radio and then emit a buzzer, e.g. B. an hour later to wake you up from sleep. An easy-to-use feature for those of us who sleep but need to wake up on time, useless for those who don't. Sleep Timer: Yes, works well, easy to use (see online manual for details and timer options). Colours: white and pink. Everyone is white in color, so pink is more original. Time: hours, minutes and seconds. Always on, even when listening to the radio (the radio station is not displayed after the first few seconds when switched on). Setting: buttons, there is a search and a scan. No knob. No Dx Local switch. Annoyingly, the first press of the tune button simply puts the radio into tune mode and then press the radio tune button, meaning you'll be pressing the tune buttons a lot. Light: Lights up when buttons are pressed, then goes off after a few seconds, stop pressing buttons. There is no dedicated button to keep the light on all the time. AC Power: The power cord is not included and can be purchased directly from Sangean for twenty dollars or from third party suppliers for 2/3 that price. Not only does the use of electricity interfere with listing all but the strongest signals, it also doesn't make the device waterproof. The AC power connector to the radio is located under the rubber grommet. Battery: Two D-type cells, battery indicator is constantly displayed on the screen. Long duration, I don't know exactly how long. Speakers: Individual, small, good sound quality. front fairing. There is no tone control at all. Flashlight: small LED, one on/off button, I doubt I would think to use it in an emergency. Waterproof: Try it out like any new waterproof device within the return period (30 days at Revain). ). I took it in the shower and went through with it. Keep ticking, no problem, the loudspeaker too. Seals, especially the battery compartment, work well. The VHF antenna storage area is wet and watertight and not sealed, unlike the battery compartment next to it. No problem after soaking (not submerging) the radio. Construction: Durable plastic, no rattling parts as everything is rubber sealed. Has rubber feet. Volume: Loud enough for close-up listening, listening in the shower, but not as loud as a boombox. It is not loud enough for outdoor use, such as at the pool or at work. Bottom Line: There aren't many waterproof radios on the market today, and if you need to get your radio wet in the bath, pool, etc., there isn't. one of your few options. If you are planning to use it as a general radio, emergency radio, weather radio, DXing radio, night radio, then there are many options that are better than this radio at this price point. I would not recommend this H20 radio for general use. I hope these observations are helpful to you.
