Antenna K30 on antennas

I read the description inattentively and thought it was K40. It was a K30 from K40. I like that it attaches easily to the trunk with a magnet, but I don't like that it doesn't have a quick release buckle like the K40. The tip of the antenna is simply cut off, with no bead or tip to aid in transmission. Overall it works and I was able to get my SWR down to 1.4 when I installed it on my 2016 Challenger.

SUPPLIED UNUSED - Radio Antennas

As some others have reported my K40 - K30 arrived without the set screw required to use the antenna. I really needed this antenna to be usable without packaging and there was none. I will return it once the Christmas holidays are over. I remember the days when the K40 was the source for magnetic CB antennas. Too bad. Perhaps the saddest thing is that the product is made in the USA.

Good antenna good for accessories and consumables

Revain delivered it to me quickly as usual. The device was packaged well with no damage. Installed on the roof of my 2014 Tacoma double cab, everything looked fine. I have connected a meter to my unden pro 520 compact cb so I can tune the antenna. I set 3.0 on Ch. 40 for the SWR and the meter didn't move on Ch. 1. I ended up shortening the mast by 3/4 inch and Ch. 40 went up to 1.1 and Ch. 1 went up to 1.1 . Overall very satisfied, will report when I'm on the road.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Vulgarity

The set screw has a flat surface; No way

What a disappointment. There is no way to screw in the set screw. It has a flat surface and therefore the hex wrench is useless. It is not possible to use a Phillips screwdriver or similar to properly tighten the antenna in the bracket. Of everything that can be spoiled. Everything else looks fine on the antenna, but I won't trust them unless they can set the 3 cent screw properly. To me it's a waste of time and I'm pretty sure they lost money on the deal. Use best quality control and stop…

RUST! 5 months later and NOT happy!

The antenna has been up for 5 months and all the exposed metal is already rusting! Obviously the claim "stainless steel" is far-fetched! So far the antenna has worked flawlessly. Originally I had to shorten the mast by about 1/2 inch to get a lower SWR. Out of the box the SWR was about 2.25, after I cropped the antenna it's now 1.12 on channel 1 and 1.25 on channel 40. It works but I'm totally disappointed in the rust and am afraid of rust my roof eventually shattered Very expensive truck if I…

Good magnet - accessories and supplies

Okay, I didn't set it up, I don't have an SWR meter. I just hooked it up to a portable CB and made the same 3 state trip as I did a month ago. When I used the included whip antenna on a portable device, I never heard a single person during the trip. I was driving on I-95 and other major freeways. A month later I made the same trip, the same route, with the same car radio in the same place, but with this antenna. I actually heard people, avoided two accidents and took a detour for gossip. K30 is a good brand.

K30 is a good antenna. Implement something smaller than a full size 102" 1/4 shaft steel pin, that's a compromise. The shorter the length, the lower the performance. The quality of the load coil in the base is crucial. I had a 102 inch peg on a Jeep Wrangler, a K40 on a suburban roof and a Wilson 1000 on my car. These are all good antennas. k30 on the roof of my chevy silverado and i'm happy with it. Get an SWR meter and test it. I had to trim the length a bit to get the SWR below 2.0 on…

Disappointing - radio antennas

The packaging was great and from what I've read others say you really can't tell which end of the antenna is on top. That's what I chose. It was all working, when I tried to get the SWR in range of each other I found that the antenna wasn't long enough to get the SWR where I needed it. So to put something together I had to look up what to select to make it work. I still have a magnetic base that only needs one set screw, so attach it to the k-30 and see it properly. removed Lil Wil's base was…

Be sure to purchase the extra set screw

Warned by other reviews when I received this antenna I carefully checked the packaging before opening it. Of course, the adjusting screw was missing. In a sealed package, it didn't rattle - it just wasn't there. It was missing when the antenna was packed at the factory. That annoyed me to no end. I live in a rural area so I had to drive a 4,000 pound car 26 miles round trip to buy a 50 cent set screw. Pull yourself together, K40. Without this adjusting screw, the antenna is useless. How about a

I expected more from K40

From a well-known company in the CB antenna market, with a declared product from the USA, I expected a higher quality. That antenna was down until now and I haven't even finished installing it yet. What shouldn't have taken more than ten minutes took over 30 minutes before I had to leave because I needed to get back to my daily chores. The first problem: the whip antenna was hidden in the seam of the plastic case. I was about to stop and call her, but I accidentally lifted the container and the
