I have owned this model for several years now. I use it about once a month and it hasn't given me any problems. It doesn't freeze much ice cream (if it did, the device wouldn't be able to flip - wow); After 20-30 minutes of stirring, when a soft texture has formed, I usually transfer the ice cream to a plastic container with a lid and leave it in the freezer. It's very important to chill the pudding in the fridge (I keep mine covered on the porch during the winter) before pouring it into the canister. The motor is a bit noisy (not as noisy as a food processor blender). Cleaning is easy as the engine, clear plastic cover and dashboard are disassembled and a quick wash with warm water is usually sufficient. Also, use warm water to clean the container and give it a quick wipe to keep the water from freezing on it. Don't freeze it upside down; You want the gel to spread across the bottom of the canister (I learned this the hard way) and cover the top with a plastic bag to keep the canister clean. I think it's a better choice than the 1.5 liter model as I strongly suspect it's the same product with a larger canister but no engine power boost.
