Corroded within 5 months (unused)
I needed a bike shop to help with repairs after installing new cables. They informed me that my (new) cables were already corroded, which was surprising since I haven't actually ridden the bike or taken it out of the garage. They're probably fine if you want to save money and change your cables regularly, but I think next time I'll just pay a little more to get stainless steel.
