Review on 🔌 Portable Bluetooth Receiver with 12-Hour Battery Life for Car/Home Stereo/Speakers - Dual Connection, Noise Cancelling & Hands-Free Calling Function by Aaron Ethridge

Simply. It just works. Great workaround for phones without a headphone jack.

When I switched to the iPhone 7 a long time ago, I realized I was going to need one of these things for my old car. Years later I upgraded my car but not my phone. When I did, I gave my husband my original for his old Ford Ranger. Lately I've missed the opportunity to use the Sony MDR-7508 at home and my husband didn't have the courage to take the old BT receiver. 😉 In short, it's not the first time that my little Bluetooth receiver has bypassed the iPhone's "feature" without a headphone jack. This little guy just works. I'll admit I haven't tried the call quality, but the music quality is quite decent. In fact, I find it sounds better than plugging the MDR-7508 headphones into a desktop computer. (And now I don't have to worry about reloading stopping my podcasts/music.) As with many other reviews, it just works. This should not be underestimated. So many of my other Bluetooth devices have an excess of beeps and sound clips when you switch modes or even — gasp — when you change the volume. It's priced right. This has the familiar bo-do-do-dooot (major chord rising) and then dooot as it powers up and connects. The volume buttons are silent (no beeps - thank goodness!) and they work with your phone's Bluetooth volume. With the front button you can stop and start the music. Did I mention it just works? During use, the front button slowly flashes blue. (I just hide it under the covers when I use it in bed.) The front button glows solid green while charging. On the contrary, I asked for a similar device that costs twice as much because it supposedly had a built-in headphone amp. This unit was sent straight to electronics recycling due to several deficiencies including connectivity and noise. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Not as good as it says
