I first used Scotch Porter Beard Balm which is incredibly good. But because of the low price and good reviews, I decided to give it a try. After about 2 weeks I have to say that this is the worst product I have ever used on my beard. It's more like wax than anything and only keeps my beard tame for an hour or two. My beard is thick and frizzy, but the fingertip of Scotch Porter Beard Balm has kept me going for most of my workday. I'm a black male and I would say my beard is probably thicker and frizzier than a medium beard and I imagine if you had a straight or less wiry beard it would work. So I'm not going to say that this product is useless, but it's not for very thick and curly beards.
