I ordered another brand but gave up because the buttons were harder to press. It's not, but I think it makes it easier to use than the real keyboard on my MacBook. Since the laptop is so thin that the keys are almost flush with the computer, and is behind the computer - definitely no, no. A lesson I learned after taking it in for repairs because the keys were stuck. Without the warranty, the repair would have cost me €500! Ouch! I've learned my lesson. I know I need a keyboard case and this does the job very well. It's very thin so it doesn't get in the way of closing the laptop properly and it's easy to type on. The lettering on the keys is subtly translucent, though not as if there's no cover. I am very happy with the purchase. I'll say one thing: I ordered the rose gold color, but it's not the same as my rose gold laptop, it's more pink. When it wears out I'll definitely order another one, but I'll go with white, clear, or something more neutral.
