Definitely serves its purpose.
I have to say as a mostly bourbon/whisky drinker they are great at giving the drink the right 'cold' without melting it or to dilute. Drink. In fact, they keep the drink cooler than ice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they are NOT suitable for mixed drinks. They just don't get cold enough for my taste.
