Review on Enhance Your Canon DSLR Experience with the Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash - White Box, New! by Vinay Zaveree ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn³'t expect the quality to be this good.

The main advantages of the flash include its weight, dimensions and battery life, which makes the Canon Speedlite 430EX II an indispensable assistant in the work. When buying this model, the bets were made precisely as an additional, external source of pulsed light - backlight, complementary and auxiliary. Infrared flash control using the ST-E2 transmitter allows you to adjust the power and adjust the pulse strength relative to the drawing source (580EX II) in the right direction, which cannot be achieved from the 270EX if we are talking about an additional source. In the role of an auxiliary flash, the 430EX II copes with +5, but with the role of the main source it can hardly cope with -4 due to its low power. According to comparative estimates, the full charge of the 2700 Varta Pro batteries is enough for 400-550 operations, and unlike the 580EX II, this model immediately understands that the sources are discharged and there is not enough charge for further shooting. The stand foot allows you to set the flash almost anywhere, either on a flat surface, or on a tripod or stand with an umbrella, softbox and other flash attachments.

Pros
  • Compact and lightweight external flash that allows you to use it as an additional source in the work of a mobile photo studio on the road.
Cons
  • Of the shortcomings - the lack of a low battery indicator and small control buttons recessed into the panel. I think that the inability to connect an external source is not a drawback, but a feature of the model, which allows the flash to be compact and relatively inexpensive.
