If you understand "Right tight, left weak" then you can start this car charger. It took me a second to interpret the instructions, but I figured it out. Button on the side and button on top. You press the bottom button to extend your arms and the top button to retract them. Pull out the arms, place the phone on the charger, and then remove the arms to secure the phone. All edges are soft so it won't damage the phone. You have the option to mount it on your dashboard/windshield or on an air vent. Your decision determines which application you use. Both mounts (particularly the dashboard/windshield) are indeed adjustable. I like that you can adjust both the length and the angle. We installed this in my husband's car. We went for the vent clip version, so I'm not sure about the other option. You can tighten it and it stays really secure. As you can see from the bottom of his phone, he's actually charging. That's all I can ask for in a car charger, so I'm happy!
