The unit comes with a modified bracket which is easy to remove as I was replacing my existing dumb LED ceiling light and didn't need a bracket. The only confusing part was figuring out how to put the light into adjustment mode. At some point I found out that you have to turn the light on and off three times with the wall switch. Leave the light on at the 3rd switch. The indicator will start flashing, showing it's ready to connect to the internet. (s) with your application. You can control several lights individually or as a group of lights. What worries me most about these lights (and pretty much every IoT device) is what happens if my internet goes down. This requires at least a local WiFi connection. However, I'm not sure if you can create and save new programs when there is no internet connection. That's why I saved my old dumb flashlights for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
