Review on πŸ”Œ MP HTS850 PowerCenter for Home Theater by Monster Cable (Discontinued) by Roberto Nastanovich

Looks great. with little effort!

I'm a little nervous about the overall look of my home theater system - I even keep my ugly silver Comcast DVR box under a smoke-colored plastic cover I made for the purpose. In the end I decided to put in a little effort to organize and decorate the clutter of cords and cords that go into a modern 5.1 HT setup. I bought this device for both the looks and the monster name and was not disappointed when it arrived - it is the nicest looking surge protector on the market. (Of course, it's not very similar to horse racing, but still.) Unfortunately, there is one (easily solved) problem. The HTS850 comes with a large bracket that spans both the back and side of the tread. When you wall mount the device, the bracket is visible from the side, revealing a large piece of molded plastic with multiple mounting holes. Considering the care that went into the rest of the design, that's a pretty big downside. The solution was to cut off the visible side of the bracket using a Dremel tool before attaching the bracket to the wall. Aside from that minor hiccup, installation was as easy as you would expect. The added benefit of having all the plugs plugged in on the same side is that it's a lot easier to organize your cable management - I've tied all my power cords neatly together with Velcro and the result looks fantastic. The connector markings (VCR? Really? What, your Victrola doesn't have any markings?) and the lack of Ethernet ports give the HTS850 a bit of age, but that doesn't really bother us. Does the Pure Power scheme work? I do not know. My photo looked damn good before and looks damn good now. Is blue light annoying? Not really, but I've set the TV to block it. I can see where else it can be a little annoying - it's quite noticeable. Overall, I paid a reasonable price for something that offers peace of mind while eliminating that pesky aesthetic itch on my HT system. highlighted.
