If like me you're replacing old 3" cans get the 3.5 with these headlights, they completely cover the hole, 3" headlight Not. You will not see any imperfections on your wall and you will not go blind. The connection is easy, I preferred to use the rotatable plugs instead of the push pins that came with it. The flashlight itself is lightweight and very easy to install into a hole thanks to the strong springs that hold it in place and it sits flush with no gaps. All in all it's a great value, my hardware store had one of these for $18 so do the math. I am very happy that I will be buying more and find that they are great with dimmer and bright
