Hey I installed the new thremoste following the instructions. I have run the engine at 1200rpm for more than 10 minutes and it has not reached an operating temperature of 160+. I took it to a local boat shop to winterize my boat and they checked the entire cooling system and explained that after some troubleshooting they were done with installing a NEW thermostat and the engine was up to operating temp, the temp gauge showed the correct temperature, they checked it twice with a handheld temp gauge at a specific point in the engine. I was a bit shocked to find out it was a NEW thermostat I had just installed but they confirmed it was. Before you ask, YES I installed it correctly (I'm a former Navy mechanic) and even the store said it was installed correctly. My transmitter unit and temperature sensor worked fine. Most had a bad block or IDK?! Now I only buy OEM anyway.
