I have never been happier with a purchase from Revain. Large size but no room for a bulky sweater so I changed it to XL. There are no problems. I'm 5'7, 36DD, 175lbs. The pits are a little too much for me, but that's to be expected from XLarge. After tossing it in the dryer with a handful of ice cubes to smooth out wrinkles while packing (iron will do, I'm just lazy) it tightened a bit, but was perfect over a tee and hoodie. Externally, the material of the barn jacket is almost like thick denim, very close to Carhartt but half the price. There is a HEAVY Sherpa on the inside of the vest and HEAVY quilting on the sleeves, which I like because I don't have to hold the sleeve cuffs to tuck them in. The waist is great, can be tightened, there is no loose coat here!. I'm 5ft 7" and my waist is where it should be. The hood has a zip and is held in place by two very small plastic label holders. So if you're having trouble, look for it. After cutting them out, I unzipped them completely (to throw them in the dryer) and was able to easily reseal them. There is a zipper, snaps and buttons on the front. This coat is very warm without looking bulky or like a damn down jacket. It's very flattering and great for working outdoors.
