All I can say is that this Chi Iron is a real find. I have read other reviews that other Chi irons are fake. To be honest I have no idea what you are talking about. This is definitely true chi. That works great. I have medium length hair, a bit frizzy. This iron straightens hair and removes frizz. My old Chi lasted 15 years. I have no idea how long it will last, but I would definitely recommend it.
