Let me start by saying that I'm by no means an audiophile but I do listen to a lot of music and like most reviews I've read I'm always looking for a reasonable compromise between sound quality and price. Bose set the standard and so far I haven't found anything that compares (beats, jbl, sony, etc.). While I think the Bose mini II is really worth its price compared to others, I can't justify the Bose's price compared to other options when it comes to headphones. Beyution are my third pair of in-ear headphones and my second pair of bluetooth headphones. Sonically they are actually quite good, clear sound, good base and no distortion at volumes well above what you should really hear. In addition, the Bluetooth was easy to connect, the range was solid, 30 feet before there was a problem. Battery life is strong, I get over 8 hours on a single charge. So why 3 out of 5 stars? One of the advantages of these headphones was "noise-cancellation", and not only do they fail in this regard (they obviously don't block noise), the passive noise-cancelling technology creates a very noticeable and annoying low-level hum. Now when the music is playing it's good, but between songs it's quite annoying. If it was possible to disable noise cancellation, I would. I didn't buy it for use as a phone headset, I tried and was asked to 'lift' it, but honestly no one should buy it for that purpose. The price is obviously good, and if you can ignore the hiss by canceling out the hum between songs, the headphones should be fine. For me I will use them, but my search continues.
