The bristles on this utility and nail scraper aren't as stiff as I had hoped as they look like they were meant for cleaning up after car jobs and the like. I have a couple of old wooden block based nail brushes rather than plastic block ones which (can't find them anymore) have much stiffer bristles and are great for removing oil from hands. This Performance Tool brush is not intended for removing grease and I will only use it for light cleaning (e.g. dirt on my hands) and general hand washing. Wood block brushes have two main problems: after a few years, the wood starts to crack and then the block breaks; and wood is more difficult to keep clean than plastic (e.g. film/grease deposits on blocks). For my purposes, I prefer wooden sticks with stiffer bristles for smearing and plastic sticks with weaker bristles for regular, light hand washing.
