I have a 14lb Maine Coon who is, shall we say, a heavy box user. I had to scoop every day if not twice a day because of the smell. I wanted something covered so she could still move. It didn't take up much space in my small apartment. I removed the door first to let her get used to it and the smell was fine when scooped out every few days instead. but even when I closed the door again, she had no trouble getting in and out. I'm glad I got the larger size despite the small space I have. She still manages to track down debris everywhere (because she has feathers on her legs) despite scratching her legs, but the smell has greatly improved.
