I have this Verbatim flash drive on a Toshiba Tecra laptop with 32GB RAM, SSD, Intel Core i7vPro processor, Windows 7 Pro 64 and USB port 3.0 tested. I tested this drive on port 3.0 even though it was 2.0 since the ports are backwards compatible. My system recognized the flash drive with no problems. I plugged it in and my system told me the software drivers were already installed and the flash drive was ready to use. For my test, I dragged a 7.87GB MP4 (movie) file (i.e. my SSD) onto a flash drive. The first time I tried to transfer a movie to a flash drive, I was told that the MP4 file was too big for the flash I had this problem with previous FAT32 formatted flash drives (like this one) on my laptop found that this flash drive has 29.1GB of free space, enough for a 7.87GB file, but 29.1GB doesn't seem like enough FAT32 format formatted this USB stick to NTFS and later to exFAT. In both cases, the USB stick was able to accept the MP4 file, it hung after 5 minutes, and there was 20.4 MB. I waited another two minutes, but the disc didn't seem to be able to hold the last 20.4MB, so I aborted the transfer, which took about a minute. But then when I tried to play the MP4 movie that played is all on the flash drive until the end credits. It seems like the file migrated completely after 5 minutes and then got stuck. When I reformatted the flash drive to exFAT (allocation unit size: 32,768 kilobytes), transferring the file from my SDD to the flash drive took a whopping 9 minutes and 21 seconds. . Slower than NTFS format. On the other hand, the transmission never hung. One of the advantages of this flash drive is that it "folds over" near the case instead of requiring a cover. But that creates a problem. The case increases the width of this flash drive, making it difficult to compress with some USB ports. See photo from my laptop: Two USB ports side by side. This Verbatim flash drive is wide due to its casing. The orange USB port next to it is thin, allowing two of them to fit side by side. But if you still had one of those flip flash drives, you would have to leave one of the USB ports empty. They take up too much space to be used at the same time. This Verbatim flash drive is only 32GB while one of my flash drives is 128GB. It's only 2.0 in the 3.0 era. Yes, and the width is uncomfortable. In general, this flash drive is Verbatim. OK. It'll get the job done, but it's not a stellar flash drive. It's pretty cheap though, so you get what you pay for.
