Decided to try the ENZOO cone grinder after I got bored with the Krups GX5000 disc grinder. Originally bought Krups to get a more consistent grind than our old grinder. Unfortunately, Krups had a fatal flaw - regardless of the degree of grinding, about 1/5 of the coffee grounds came out in the form of a very fine powder, which made the coffee bitter. When I bought a conical manual coffee grinder (also pictured) I quickly realized how bitter a Krups grinder makes coffee. The conical hand grinder, while cheap, produced a fairly consistent grind size and a much smoother cup of coffee. Looking for an electric cone burr grinder I found several options for over $100 and then stumbled upon ENZOO for half price (about the same as Krups) and decided to give it a try. First impression: The coffee grinder arrived quite well packaged. Cardboard (instead of foam). Funnel and grinder bowl are made of tinted plastic (to keep the beans fresh?). The plastic is a bit thinner than I would like (similar to Krups), but shouldn't be a problem if handled carefully. The grinding head is a one piece piece with stainless steel cones in a metal frame with a cosmetic plastic coating and appears sturdy/good quality. The hopper and grinding head are removable and have small doors that close when removed to prevent grains from spilling while disassembled. There are clamps in the lid of the funnel for attaching a scoop and a cleaning brush. The base on which the burr screen sits is removable and mounted on small spring pins that gently press the jar against the burr outlet to prevent ground coffee spillage. Spring. The degree of grinding is adjusted using the adjustment wheel on the grinding head. It has a scale of 1 (good) to 10 (rough) and clicks 40 times between them (an example of looping 1 and 10 is shown). The automatic grind timer has 5 settings in 10 second increments (indicated by 1 of the 5 illuminated icons on the front). Overall, the device seems reasonably well thought out and constructed, especially good for the price. First Use: For our typical morning coffee, I found setting the grind to around 6.5 and the timer to 3 (30 seconds) was spot on. . The resulting grist was fairly uniform in size and did not produce a noticeably fine powder, unlike Krups. Electric grinders and plastic containers always seem to produce static electricity, but this grinder seems far less messy than the Krups. I don't use the espresso refill nozzle, but I suspect it may cause even more chaos. Another thing to note is that this grinder is not as noisy as the Krups. Best of all, using the same beans and brewing method, the resulting coffee was similar to hand-ground coffee (not bitter like Krups). Big win in my book. Press the button and wait 30 seconds, which is much better than 3 or 4 minutes of manual grinding, which is enough for a coffee pot. Cleaning the grinder head isn't too difficult as you can leave the bean hopper full and simply remove the head, pour a tablespoon of beans back into the hopper and brush the head off. The only complaint is that you can't remove the inner and/or outer cone, so a thorough cleaning is more difficult than my manual grinder (which has a removable inner cone), but easier than Krups. the durability of a cheap Chinese product but so far I am very happy with this purchase. If it continues to work as well as it has up until now, then it's worth buying. And if not, I'll update this review. If you like a cup of good, smooth, non-bitter, home-ground coffee, I would recommend trying this coffee grinder.
