MUCH behind the times

I bought this scanner because according to RadioReference.com my local police department has this scanner available. TIP for those who don't know: DO NOT believe what RadioReference.com tells you. I just got off the phone with someone from my local police communications department and they went digital TWO YEARS AGO! Living in a small deserted town, rest assured that all of your local emergency rooms have changed. also to the number. The only chatter this scanner picks up is the local taxi service. If you download the available software, this scanner is easy to program. But it's a moot point if you can't tune into any of the major stations in your area. Be sure to note the date of each positive review for this product. How time passed. Because of advances in technology, this radio is only useful if you specifically want to hear NOAA weather reports and nitpicking local ham radio talk. Don't get me wrong, this is a good scanner. However, this is a waste of money if you intend to listen to local emergency services. BUY A DIGITAL SCANNER. This WAY is no longer up-to-date.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not bad
