LIGHTWIEGHT PORTABLE DESIGN, take this Bearcat handheld radio scanner with you on the road, or on outings. It packs plenty of features, the orange backlight display is easy to read, even in low light conditions. GET STARTED LISTENING RIGHT AWAY with convenient Pre-sets for the most popular searches. This makes it easy to find channels that interest you. EXCELLENT HAND-HELD SCANNER (Please note: model BC125AT is NOT suitable for Trunking or Digital Radio system monitoring, (e.g. Project 25, DMR, NXDN). Some Police/Fire/Emergency/Public Safety Agencies in larger cities are switching over to DIGITAL Trunking systems. If you live in an area where Trunking or Digital Radio systems are used, you need to upgrade to a Uniden Digital model (“D” stands for Digital), such as models BCD436HP, BCD536HP, BCD996P2, BCD325P2, or HomePatrol-2.

Great little scanner, easy PC programming or simple execution.

As everything is digital (P25) my Uniden 436hp is busy scanning these channels so a decent analogue scanner was needed. Alpha tagging was required so I went for this one. It just takes a little bit of doing it manually to tag this way. No complaints here.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • High price

You need to buy an extra cable

Be careful, the cable that comes with the BC125AT is for charging only, not for programming. Just spend an hour on the phone with Amazon to confirm the issue. Revain sells a product with "easy-to-use software." Software is available, but you'll need to buy a $42 cable from Uniden if you want to program from a computer. Beware

Pros
  • Dope 🔥

  • Almost never

Know your area code before you buy

I'm stupid. I can't post anything here in my city. This radio was very expensive (for me). Its my fault. I know it looks like I'm doing anal sex, but I'm really not. I just can't give it 5 stars if I paid full price but I can't use it. It's totally useless to me. I had to do my research. I don't know what it's like to enjoy this product which is why I'm giving it such a low rating. Again, BEFORE YOU BUY IT, research YOUR LOCAL stations to see if you can use it at all. I can't use it! It's not…

This is a fantastic scanner. I've had several lately.

This is a fantastic scanner. I've had several over the past 25 years and this is by far the most user friendly. Do not get me wrong. My PRO-43 was legendary. But I couldn't connect it to my laptop and program it. This Bearcat (my second Bearcat) was purchased for the terrestrial VHF and UHF bands. For no other reason. Please don't complain about missing 800MHz or anything like that. That's not what this scanner is for and it's not advertised as such. In stock form I have 3 problems with it…

Good product but not easy for beginners

This seems to be a very good scanner but it has a fairly steep learning curve. You don't just turn it on and start scanning. The radio requires extensive setup and programming before use, which is quite difficult for a newbie like me to understand. All the frequencies and other specifics of what you want to hear have to be entered into the device's memory, which means you need to know these things before you start. Fortunately, many of these are available online. The instruction manual is not…

MUCH behind the times

I bought this scanner because according to RadioReference.com my local police department has this scanner available. TIP for those who don't know: DO NOT believe what RadioReference.com tells you. I just got off the phone with someone from my local police communications department and they went digital TWO YEARS AGO! Living in a small deserted town, rest assured that all of your local emergency rooms have changed. also to the number. The only chatter this scanner picks up is the local taxi…

The BC125AT is actually a very good scanner for the price.

BC125AT is actually a very good scanner for its price. Most of the negative reviews were written by idiots who have nothing to do with the scanner. One person complained that it was not digital and therefore could not receive police and fire service channels. That person should have read the specifications. This is a conventional scanner for analog voice reception. If you don't understand what that means, don't buy a scanner! This scanner is designed to receive legacy systems only, which means…

Pros
  • LISTEN AND BE INFORMED, this advanced scanner has 500 alpha-tagged channels in a convenient, compact body packed with features. Close Call RF detection technology instantly tunes into signals from nearby transmitters, and Do Not Disturb prevents Close Call checks during transmission.
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Excellent, low price

I am an experienced amateur radio operator and have considerable experience with HF radio: If you have never owned this type of radio, you should know that such scanners are not trivial devices. A lot of people buy them thinking they look like Mr. Coffee, in other words you just plug it in and it works. To get the most out of scanners: 1.) they must be programmed. The PC software provided by Uniden is adequate and does the job however there is nothing special about it but it is FREE2.) Antennas

Pros
  • START LISTENING NOW with handy presets for the most popular searches. Frequencies are preset in ten separate non-digital bands for Police/Fire/Emergency, Ham Radio, Marine, Railroad, Civil Aviation, Military Aviation, CB Radio, FRS/GMRS/MURS and Racing Search bands. This makes it easier to find the channels that interest you.

Multifunctional scanner priced at

I had a 25 year old Radio Shack Scanner with 10 channels (not 10 bank) and it was time for an upgrade. I live in rural Northern California and am a retired volunteer firefighter. My wife and I rely on our scanner to keep up to date with local emergencies. I chose the Uniden BC125AT after helping a friend program it. I found a number of things that helped me in my decision: GOOD • Good sound. The filtering in this scanner made it possible to filter out static noise from various electronic…
