They are used to store small items (receipts, warranty cards from product packaging, etc.) that can get stuck in the scanner. But they were exactly the same price on Fujitsu's online store, and you'd have to pay an extra $15 for shipping. There are no shipping costs when using Revain Prime. The [.] instructions indicate that these carrier sheets should be replaced every 500 pages. I hope they last much longer.
