Check all seams before you go to the beach

We purchased this for our beach vacation. When we got to the beach, one of the seams that holds the sand in place was not sewn together. We were still able to make it work but when we got back, we returned it for another. Once we received the second, it has the same problem, bad seam stitching and it will not hold sand. So quality is lacking. Rather than return, we inspected it all and found this was the only problem. Since we have a sewing machine, we decided to fix this rather than spend more money on a competitor's product. Also, this is not waterproof, we got a little rain (not a downpour) and it did nt protect anything under it; so if that is important to you, look elsewhere. While at the beach with one of the sandbags ripped, is was probably 20 mph wind gusts and this did get wobbly, but stayed up the whole time while I saw at least 5 umbrellas come flying by us. The sun was the opposite direction of the wind, so people with umbrellas could not block the sun and still have the umbrellas stay up. This product was able to do this.Regarding long-term quality, I doubt this will last long, but we are occasional beach goers and expect to get a few years out of it with occasional fixing of seams. The material is thin and the seams are not well sewn. We anticipate with the stress from stretching that they will rip and we will have to sew them back together. This takes much less time to set up than other canopies and umbrellas as well as take down. It is really light and you just put the strap around your shoulder and you can carry two other items. It barely takes up space in the car. So ease of transportation at the beach and to the beach are great.
