Review on 🔧 Optimized ACDelco Professional Water Pump Kit Model 252-693 by Dean Partybus

Great water pump. It didn't fit in my head why a cast iron impeller is better than a steel impeller. But the wheel in this one is actually cast iron and much larger than the stock wheel I removed from my 2000 Chevy Impala. This seems to be of very high quality. Like others, I bought a blue Fel-Pro 35351 gasket and used non-hardening Permatex sealant on both the gasket and the studs since at least two of them go into the water jackets. It's amazingly simple, just watch a few YouTube videos and you're good to go. Works great, better than stock. The heater is HOTTER than ever and the temp gauge is stable and slightly colder (yes I understand what the thermostat is doing so it doesn't make sense but it's still true). Remember to gradually tighten the bolts from the inside out in a star pattern, as if you were making a wheel, and tighten to specification (two different bolt sizes mean two different tightening torques). DO NOT FORGET to bleed the engine through the vent at the top of the thermostat housing or you will overheat!
