With the Kreinik Custom Corder it is very easy to get an evenly twisted cord. I've mainly used it for twisting DMC cotton or Presencia Pearl, but I'm pretty sure it will work with yarn - you just need to pay attention to the Z or S twist of the yarn, just like twisting yarn . Hand. A friend borrowed my cable so I can't show a demo but you can check out the finished brush. It was made from a number 12 Perlé cotton, as you can see, very evenly. It's especially easy to use with 2 people, but you can do it yourself. Secure each end of the cable to a stable object and hook the cable into the loop created by folding the cable in half. As you turn the handle further, the cable shortens. Once the twisted line is REALLY twisted, make sure to pull it as straight as possible. While holding the twist, remove the string. Hang it on a twisted string and let it slide until it reaches the middle of your string. At this point, move forward to the other end and have the two halves of your cord twist around each other. (Sometimes you need to give one of the cords a little nudge to make sure the turns are even with each other. Once you reach the other end (the anchored end), connect the two ends and tie them together. Remove the cords from both the anchored end and cord, then admire your twisted cord. The cord is strong and quite heavy. Instructions are included with the line purchase and I'm sure there are a YouTube video or two.
