I specialize in technical verification and have been using Dymo thermal printers for over ten years. Although they are good, they are overpriced. The constant confusion over Dymo's reliability made me think of the popular Rollo thermal printer and this newly upgraded model from MUNBYN. Let's Compare: BRAND COMPARISON / ROLLO VS MUNBYN: If you tend to think of MUNBYN as an unnamed brand, think again. Both brands are expertly crafted with very similar designs. MUNBYN also manufactures a wide range of scanners and printers for commercial use. Rollo only makes one product, the thermal label printer. SPECIFICATIONS AND PRINT QUALITY / ROLLO VS MUNBYN: Both printers have adjustable guides and can print labels from 1.57 to 4 inches wide. The most common labels for these printers today are 4" x 6" shipping labels. Unlike Dymo, both brands accept different brands of labels. Below I am including a link to my review of great shipping labels for 1/3 the price of roller blind labels. Both printers are equally fast and print at 203 dpi. This is the resolution standard for thermal printing - a major advantage of thermal printers is that they do not require ink. Don't expect laser quality when using a thermal printer, but 203 dpi is the perfect combination of good print quality and much faster speed. PRICE AND PRICE / ROLLO VS MUNBYN: MUNBYN typically costs around $170 while Rollo costs $180. Ten bucks is never a deal breaker, but right now Manbin has an amazing bonus in the box. After purchase you can email the company and choose between two 4 x 6 label stacks or one label roll. A roll label holder costs about $20. So let's explain why you might need one: With shipping labels, you can either use rolls or the stacked, fan-folded options you have on your desk. Since the buns are naturally round, you can't feed them without buying an extra stand. Roll labels are more popular and sometimes sell for a better price. Each variety is of the same quality. So MUNBYN with a bonus reel seat was chosen for me in terms of value for money. I am very happy. RELIABILITY AND WARRANTY / ROLLO VS MUNBYN: Both printers are extremely reliable and come with easy-to-use printing software drivers for Windows or Mac. MUNBYN carries a rare and commendable two-year warranty, which is longer than roller blinds have a year. So far I've found MUNBYN customer service to be quick to respond and help. WHAT'S NEW IN THIS MUNBYN MODEL 2.0 UPDATE? As you can see in the top photo above, just released Summer 2020, this model now includes all printer drivers and a very helpful user guide on the included flash drive. Smart move, MANBIN! That's the main difference that really helped me get down to business. Also, it now has another useful feature compared to Rollo: automatic label size detection. The printer driver does not need to be installed manually. Like Rollo, MUNBYN works with all major shipping company software such as UPS, Fedex, USPS, Paypal, Easyship, etc. STAMPS.COM TIP: MUNBYN for Stamps.com also works. Just set it up like Zebra LP2844. Here's my review of the folded 4" x 6" Anylabel version, but you can also order it on a roll. They only cost 30% more than roller blind labels: https://www.amazon.com/review/R3TIJN305STR22/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07X9GDJR1 I haven't bought the MUNBYN labels yet, but the starter labels that printers are of similar good quality. FINAL THOUGHTS: Thank you for wasting too much time on this overly long review. I hope this was helpful in your purchase decision. At first I thought Rollo was what I need, but I found MUNBYN to be better and quicker to set up. The two-year warranty sealed the deal for me.
