conclusion. this thing is a mess. Maybe I shouldn't have bought the version with the built-in straw, which made me very happy. Everything I drank seemed to stay in the straw and every time I opened it, the contents sloshed out. On my carpet, in my car, in my clothes I would go further, but I would only blame myself for using it so many times before I learned my lesson.
