I recently upgraded my TV to a 50 inch model which is a big step up from my previous 4 inch TV. My PS2 Slim worked fine on composite, although it looked a bit ugly on my old TV. I hooked up my PS2 to my new TV and to be honest I couldn't read the text in some of my games it was that bad. Everything was a spongy mess. I mean you have a rough idea of what's going on, but wow. I wasn't impressed. Worse, there was input lag when playing PS1 games, rendering my favorite rhythm games like Bust A Groove completely useless. After some searching I came across this converter and decided to give it a try. Setup was easy and as others have said the USB cable was the problem. Luckily I had a right angle USB cable which solved the power cord problem. Visually it's great. PS2 games look legible and clear on the screen. There is virtually no input lag, so games like Guitar Hero and DJ Hero work well. But PS1 games don't work. The logo is triggered and the input is lost. This leads me to believe that my TV tried to fix the video for PS1 games. It's definitely a sedative though. The other option is to play a terrible mishmash with terrible lag so I can make that compromise. Overall, I'd recommend just keeping an eye on PS1 games.
