Review on Braun 32B Cutter Replacement Compatible by Carol Long

Shockingly bad. No Braun quality at all

[edit] Two years later I would like to add something to my review. Unfortunately, this is currently the only available design. Braun simply abandoned the original design. Not only that, they miss even more details! First they removed the springs, now they have done away with the two plastic slides (one on each side of the cartridge) used to facilitate the reciprocating movement of the cutter head in the foil. So now it's more of a method of vibrating all over the place than back and forth. While I'm getting used to them now, I noticed something that another reviewer noticed: they break ridiculously quicker than before. I changed mine 2-3 times a year and the old original head easily lasted over a year. Sad[/edit][Original review October 2017]: Shockingly bad. If I could return it after opening it, I definitely would. As others have said (and I just hoped they were anomalies) the hole pattern is different. I won't go into detail as you can read other low star reviews detailing these changes. What I'm going to talk about in detail, I haven't seen anyone else talk about it. In short, this blade replacement DOES NOT BADLY EXTEND MY FACIAL HAIR. right out of the box. The real reason I bought a new one is because my old one started with it. Almost 2 years later. This is ridiculous for a brand new blade/foil. Back to my details - this version COMPLETELY REMOVES THE SPRING MECHANISM in the blade and foil assembly! NATURALLY this affects quality and performance. Every replacement head I've bought in the past has four springs internally, two on each cutter block, that keep a very tight clearance between the shaver foil and the blade while flexing to conform to the contours and change the pressure on the block as you go shave. Take a look - if there are no feathers at all, then we have the same type. Too bad I didn't throw my old one in the trash - I'd love to snap a photo for comparison. I'll just share a photo of it without the feathers. If you compare to your own unit I'm sure anyone with an original blade set or a replacement from anywhere other than Amazon can tell the difference right away. The first shot shows the foil pattern. The last two shots should show the absence of feathers.

Pros

Cons
  • Expensive insurance
