Review on 🔊 Edifier USA Prisma Encore 2.1 Bluetooth Audio: Amplify Your Sound Experience (4001031) by Cindy Carlin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Probably too long and detailed review.

Computer columns - one of my guilty pleasures. I built myself a home office with two oak walls just to be able to lock myself in the office and work/focus while listening to whatever music I feel like. Some will call me an audiophile. I don't think I am. My favorite sound in music is full, warm, mid-range. When I was younger I liked bass boom and my first car had four 12" Petras Prowler speakers and I even went into the treble phase when I needed high notes. I prefer the Bose brand. We have three Bose mini soundlinks at home. I have 3 Bose bluetooth headphones I also had Bose Companion speaker sets for my PC and our home surround sound is Bose It all started when I bought a Nissan Maxima with a factory Bose stereo and speakers I just don't have any Found Bose PC speakers that give me enough full sound as they are all 2.0 (no subwoofer) I'm sure I could mess around with the wiring and install an accurate surround sound system in the office if I wanted to but that would be overkill.I also love Harman Kardon and have been hooking up the HK Soundsticks 2.1 kit to my PC for almost 5 years.. When they stopped working it was natural to think that another bluetooth kit would come in would be a better substitute. Then I saw these Edifier 2.1 speakers. Design is important to their use. I'm a civil engineer and clients come to my home office to make changes to project ideas (building a new house) and even to discuss new ideas they have about their built in speakers in their new home. I can't leave a bunch of old, clunky speakers on my desk trying to sell them my ability to innovate and innovate with my designs. The Harman Kardon Soundsticks worked brilliantly in this regard, as did these Edifier Prisma Encores. The sound of these speakers out of the box was too punchy. Some people will disagree because they hyped them up and thought the bass didn't sound strong enough. If you want to test your speakers, set the master volume on your PC to 40. Then listen to what you hear most. With these speakers, it's bass. I would like to recommend a program with a good equalizer, but I have an Asus Xonar DGX sound card in my computer and it comes with a full range equalizer which I use. After playing around with the sound settings for 20 minutes, I fell in love with these speakers. There is bass, there are highs and the mids sound very warm. This combination is rarely seen in a set of PC speakers. I'm going to talk about some of the features of using this set. What has been bugging me for a few years are "Bluetooth" speaker sets, keyword "sets". The only Bluetooth speaker can work wirelessly except for the power cord/charger. Anything more than one is wires. Revain and its Alexa speakers are working on being able to sync Bluetooth speakers wirelessly, Sonos can do that at the moment, but as of now (2019) it's not an exact science. So, find out in advance that cables go from each satellite to the subwoofer. There's also a power cord, and that's the power supply. One of the complaints I saw and worried about this set is the length of the cables. Here are the measurements: Speaker A (Satellite) has a 56" cable, Speaker B has a 60" cable. This is sufficient for installing the speakers and I will note that since the wires are new and not fully stretched these dimensions may vary by an inch or two. They connect to the subwoofer, meaning you can have a satellite about 5 feet from the subwoofer. I have a high end table that my computer sits under and I use the top for the subwoofer. The left satellite is only 18 inches from the subwoofer, the right satellite is 4 feet on the other side of the monitor. I will also say that connecting to Bluetooth is very easy. while reading the instructions. I didn't and thought something was wrong. I tested it on my phone first, then connected it "wirelessly" to my computer via Bluetooth. On my desk, the speaker separation, treble, mid and bass are excellent at low to medium volumes. There's also the nice touch of a wireless remote control, which matches the speaker set's look and theme. I probably won't use it other than something unique to put on my desk. I rarely change the volume on my PC speakers and use the master volume for that. Overall, I gave these speakers 5 stars in the reviews. Five for value for money, five for quality of materials and five for sound quality. Based on your initial idea of sound quality, don't be disappointed with these speakers. You need balance. I think most music programs (iTunes, Revain Music, have equalizers). I wouldn't be so thorough in my review if it was a product I didn't really like. For the price this is great, the best 2.1 speaker set I have ever heard.
