I received this to test whether my diesel heater emits CO. I am unsure of the accuracy of this device as I have no way of testing it. I can say that the sensitivity is excellent. He can spot a lighter or candle kept next to him. That's enough for my purposes. I was shocked to find CO levels < 20ppm in the house, in the garage and sometimes even outside. Being able to compare relative CO levels gave me peace of mind. I still use this in conjunction with the proprietary carbon monoxide detector just to be on the safe side. These alarms do not typically show or warn of levels as low as this device can detect.
