I was looking for an inexpensive digital voice recorder to record interviews. I don't need to store recordings on my computer, so I didn't have to pay extra for this feature, and the voice recorder has enough space for my needs. For this item, the price was great and the packaging was compact and cute. Price was my priority, but I also wanted something relatively attractive. This device doesn't look like anything from the future, but its simple and clean design will never show how cheap it is! Later I bought an "Olympus TP-7 Call Recorder" (also inexpensive) to record phone interviews with my digital voice recorder. This is a great combination. I carry a voice recorder, microphone/speaker, instruction manual and a set of spare batteries in an old phone case and life is good. Note: I use SP mode for all entries. For me the LP recording mode on this unit is not good. The SP mode isn't perfect either, but it's enough. And for me there is enough RAM, so the constant use of SP mode is not a problem in this regard. If your recordings are of poor quality on this device, press the "Mode" button to ensure you are in SP mode before exiting. In short, this little guy meets the basic needs at the basic price. If you need a computer connection, great recording quality, or plenty of storage, choose a more expensive model that offers those features.
