I wanted to love it, but you have to force it on a hot shoe.

, I thought this would be a really great product that protects my hot shoe and has an extra function (stage). Turns out I never use a bubble level, instead I enabled grids on the camera screen to align shots. However, since its primary purpose is a hot shoe cover, it wouldn't lose a star for a feature I haven't personally used. If he loses a star instead, he becomes the Hot Shoe. Basically you have to force it into the hotshoe and don't know if you'll damage the shoe long-term (i.e. loosen the hotshoe). If it costs twice as much as a competitor (about 33% more expensive), it would lose another star. In short, if you use a tripod camera or do frequent timed shooting, this is a worthwhile purchase. However, if you don't, I highly recommend getting just the snug-fitting plastic cap so you don't have to worry about forcing the cap on. You can always use the grids on the camera screen to level the shot if you need a rough leveling.
