The main reason I bought this dehydrator is that after I finished cooking my beef jerky in the oven I needed something that could regulate the temperature better and be easier to clean. This solved both of those problems. I've tried beef jerky and pork (the pork version is what is pictured). I set the temperature to 158ยฐF and the timer to 4.5 hours. After checking the mark of about 3.5 hours I found I needed another half hour so about 5 hours total but it ended up being better than the oven. The texture was more even and they were completely dry so I could put them in my pantry instead of the fridge (2 weeks in different places). My photos are not true, they looked amazing and tasted amazing. I made two batches, one with salt and white pepper; and a marinade made with coconut amino acids, salt, white pepper, and ground red pepper (not pictured). This one took a little longer, which is to be expected since it was wetter, but it was still far better than any product I've bought at my grocery store. Always with Tranquillity.
