I wanted Egyptian cotton sheets with a very high thread count. I also wanted a big, fluffy mattress topper, so to stay on budget I bought microfiber sheets instead. I'm not disappointed. These sheets are soft. Not smooth like satin, not cozy like flannel, just soft. They are very comfortable, do not press on the head and do not make you sweaty sleep. I wanted sheets with DEEP pockets because I have a fairly tall mattress, a mattress topper, a memory foam mattress topper, and a large fluffy alternate mattress topper. These sheets have deep pockets like Bill Gatet! Very impressive. Oh, and the elastic goes all the way across the sheet. The fitted sheet nestles against your entire mattress. The flat sheet was long, not terribly long, but just the right size to tuck into comfortably. I liked the extra pillowcases (queen had 4) because I like fluffy comfort. I have one king size pillow on my bed with a special pillowcase and then 2 cold pillows and 2 large fluffy regular pillows. I washed them right out of the pack. If you don't wash your sheets before using them, you should find a video that talks about textiles. Machine wash in cold/cold water on normal tumble and no fabric softener. Then I dried them on low heat. They dried up pretty quickly. Speaking of washing and drying, these sheets are 100% polyester. Do not (DO NOT) wash them with anything made of cotton. DO NOT wash them with towels, socks, underwear or t-shirts. NO NO NO. You know why? Because THAT causes pilling (those annoying little knots on fabrics). In short, cotton fibers crumble and stick to sheets, causing pilling. When you load your washing machine full, rubbing all of those things together increases the likelihood of pilling. So wash those sheets and pillowcases separately or with a few other 100% polyester items.
