I ordered this by doing the same mod on my Sabrent drive to lower the temperature a year ago (67 to 30 degrees, long M.2), my goal was to to lower the Dell standby temperature G5SE. high 90s in fanless low power mode. Most newer laptops don't use thermal pads to contact the case to dissipate heat. Placing the laptop on your lap is fine, but most people use them at a desk/desk, and this mod can lower temperatures by forcing heat into the laptop sleeve. If anyone tries this I recommend a laptop cooling pad to increase the cooling effect. Additional information for those who think plus a sharp drop in temperature (in degrees Celsius) by more than 50 degrees.
