I usually stick with factory inks and toners but when it came to printing a large batch of color documents Canon's trolls ran a terrible one toner rate and forced me to look elsewhere. Trembling with tornado-like toner leaks and discoloration, I ordered (dare I say it?) THIRD PARTY TONER! The suspected non-genuine cartridges arrived today and after alerting the local civil defense authorities I installed them. Then I put on my welding gloves and turned on the printer. To my surprise, the printer turned on normally! A look at the status page showed the usual ubiquitous warnings about counterfeit toner cartridges, but there was no indication that the printer recognized these cartridges as counterfeit. No warnings or warnings and the current toner level was displayed correctly - hooray! I've only printed a few test pages so far and they look ok. Maybe not bright, stunning colors, but perfectly adequate for the purpose. The real test will be next week when I need to print hundreds of pages in color and will order a spare set of cartridges just in case, but so far so good. I'll update this when things go to hell, but I don't think they will be. Sorry canon. i love your stuff And if your prices were a little more forgiving, I wouldn't be here.
