Still not working as expected

Can't. When I dip it in the batter as directed, the batter doesn't stick to it. Cook right in the bowl. terrible mess. I'll play around with it after the holidays. When I finally succeed, I will revisit this review. In the meantime, if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, please enlighten me.
