The bristle head is completely removable.
At first I really liked these toothbrushes. I am obsessed with nano toothbrushes because they are so soft and I suffer from receding gums so I am trying to prevent this from happening to my kids. They are soft, slightly undersized, small for little hands and in different colors for my boys and gals. However, so far 2 of 3 bristle heads have fallen off. It was as if the whole head of bristles had fallen off in one piece, as if they had just been glued on. I will definitely not buy them again.
