They spontaneously exploded in my battery compartment. I only noticed this after fragments of one of them broke out of a closed box. At least 5 had already severely burst at this point. None of the exploded batteries were used or even removed from their shrink wrap. The fragments appear to contain ash, so I'm probably lucky my house wasn't set on fire. This product is simply not safe and should be withdrawn from the market until the issue is resolved. They could start a fire in the middle of the night and cause serious damage or even death. My batteries are kept in a very ordinary drawer in my kitchen; it is stored at room temperature all year round. None of the other batteries stored there (AA, AAA, C, D and button) ever had a problem. At first they worked well; don't be fooled into keeping them to yourself.
