The box is well finished and the black version has good contrast which makes for better presentation. The bottom storage is very handy for my watch related tools, straps, cleaning cloths etc. One glaring flaw is the hinge design! My previous box had a built in hinge with no exposed arms, which is perfect. The hinge on this particular drawer is about 3/8" from the inside of the case and prevents easy access to the rear left compartment. I put my battered workshop Casio MDV106 in this machine to show the release. It's not that bad on a watch with a smaller case, but it does rub against the Casio. I've drilled out the rivets, removed the hinge and will replace it with something more suitable or a small transparent one that will be glued to the back of the box to stop the lid. I bought this used like new box for $30 so I can live in it as long as it fits my growing collection and accessories.
