I read many reviews before buying. particularly negative. After using it myself, I got the impression that people might have wrong expectations for what it does. The odor absorber works! Absorbs odor, does not replace it with another odor. You must also give him the opportunity to work. The stronger the smell/bigger the room, the longer it will take. My daughter plays soccer and after a few days of training her bedroom sometimes smells like the inside of a gym bag. No longer. I could tell a difference within a few hours and the next day it smelled like a bedroom again. When I first opened the container, the usual flavored product reminded me of a Vicks vaporizer, but not as strongly. You can only feel this smell for a short time before it goes away. Once it works, there's no "smell" per se in the air, but definitely not the "stink" I was aiming for. The lavender-scented product smells nice, but like a normal product, you only smell it the first time you open it. I use it in our kitchen/dining room. No lingering cooking odors from the moment of use. I'm happy. I will buy more.
